“Read to Me!” by Martha Day Zschock. (Book Review)
Baby Bird is one lucky chick. Mama Bird is always singing, talking, painting and playing with him! But what Baby Bird likes best is when Mama reads great stories to him! They read together in the nest, or at the park, and listen carefully alongside other feathered friends at storytime, too! They check out tall tales at the library and soar off in to adventures together, with the turn of every page! Mama Bird is certain – after so much reading and learning, perhaps it won’t be long before Baby Bird will be the one snuggled up in bed reading to her!
“So many adventures start with a book”. Truer words were never spoken and author Martha Day Zschock has written a terrific story about how magical it is to read great stories and better yet, read them together, share them with friends, and adventure as a team. The more you read to your child, the more they will appreciate books, grow an appetite for imagination and a love of learning that will have them reading on their own, and earlier!
Author Martha Day Zschock also has a companion reading log coming out to accompany “Read to Me!”. It encourages reading 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, and you can read more about it at http://www.readtome1000books.com/ Dolly will definitely be participating!
If you haven’t yet checked out all of Martha’s “Hello!” series, in which she takes you on a journey through countries, cities and places of interest, you must! Trust me, those books are fantastic, as they can lead your little one on an adventure around the world without ever leaving the comforts of home, while instilling a love for travel – and a passion for reading, of course!
