“More Boredom Busters” by Caroline Fernandez. (Book Review)
Dolly crafted ready-to-bake cookie jar treats as gifts for her friends’ moms to make her baby friends!
Boredom, begone! Author Caroline Fernandez has compiled some really fun activities to get you and your family spending time together and getting creative! She’s broken down her activities by season, which is a really great idea! Each chapter will give you and your kids great ideas to keep busy inside on snowy days making Christmas crafts, or crafts to make outside on the deck in the spring and summer! Your kids will love to get creative on their own and make Valentine’s Day, Mother’s/Father’s Day, Halloween treats, and more! Each of the 50 activities to choose from uses simple materials found around the home – from magazines to toilet paper roles – or which can be purchased from a craft store for a small price. Some of the crafts implore your kids to get messy (tie dye! hand prints with paint!) while others get them cooking in the kitchen (chocolate bark! fruit treats with funny candy faces!). There are also great ideas for the kids to create gifts for friends for Valentine’s Day, Mom or Dad or Grandparents for Mother’s and Father’s Day, and many more.
This book is a great purchase for kids age 7+ on their own, or for younger with assistance. It’s a great way to encourage your child to express themselves artistically and learn to create and grow! The book also teaches them how to follow directions, with each craft written out and shown in photographs step-by-step. Many projects also encourage your child to recycle and re-use!
