Dolly would like to wish all her friends a super SWEET Valentine’s Day!!!
(She LOVED being in this costume! I call her “my tootsie roll” as a nickname. When I put the costume on her I laughed and told her to come look in the mirror! I think she liked wearing it so much because it made me so happy!! haha! But it was hard to get her to take it off!!)
If you haven’t yet, check out Dolly’s Top 20 Favorite Valentine’s Day themed books! http://diapers-and-daydreams.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=420&action=edit Some of her faves from the list include:
“Amelia Bedelia’s First Valentine” by Herman Parish (Greenwillow Books) This is Dolly’s favorite Valentine’s Day book (and her favorite of the new Amelia Bedelia series as well)! The story is pretty darn cute. A young, innocent and silly Amelia Bedelia leaves her Valentines on the bus and has to come up with something else to hand out to her classmates. Meanwhile, her dad warned her about Cupid! Will she be shot by an arrow and fall in love (or like) this Valentine’s Day? Filled with great, bright, colorful pictures and cute puns. Your child will love this!
“Happy Valentine’s Day Mouse!” by Laura Numeroff (Balzer + Bray)
Dolly loves the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie books. In this Valentine’s Day edition, Mouse is creating special Valentine’s for all his friends, and he tells us what he loves most about them! Will they join Mouse for a cookie to celebrate the day?he loves.
“Llama Llama, I Love You” by Anna Dewdney (Viking Books for Young Readers)
This is a very quick read, condensed story-line board book, but it is sweet and fun. Llama is giving his loved ones heart-shaped cards and lots of hugs. Mama Llama loves her Little Llama and Llama Llama loves his Mama (Say that 10 times fast!), even more on Valentine’s Day!
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Curious George!” by N. Di Angelo (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt)
Curious George has all his friends over for a Valentine’s Day Party…but when The Man in the Yellow Hat leaves an empty box around, George is very curious about what he can make with it! Just how much mischief can a curious little monkey get into when balloons, frosting, and glitter are involved? The always loveable monkey is at in again in this adorable Valentines story, complete with a fold out hidden picture on every page.
“Elmo Loves You” by Sarah Albee (Golden Books)
In this Sesame Street Little Golden Book, Elmo tells us all about how everyone on Sesame Street has something important to love, and reminds us that Elmo loves US! It’s a perfect book for Valentine’s Day but Dolly will keep it in her bookshelf year round!
“My Fuzzy Valentine” by Naomi Kleinberg (Random House Books for Young Readers)
The second of my Elmo books in this list, but this one is a touch-and-feel board book. Elmo has received a Valentine in the mail from a secret admirer and he goes all over Sesame Street to try and find out who it is fun. This book is perfect for smaller children because of the touch-and-feel, fuzzy parts of every page. They will be engaged by the friendly faces of everyone’s favorite monsters and the fuzzy pages.
“Minnie, Be My Sparkly Valentine!” by Bill Scollon (Disney Book Group)
The review for this book is already up on our site! Check it out here: Minnie, Be My Sparkly Valentine

Have a great Valentine’s Day with your loves!!
