Book Review: Minnie: A Walk in the Park | Diapers & Daydreams

This walk in the park is anything but!

The expression “walk in the park” does not apply when you are a dog walker with some very frisky canines! In this cute story, Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck are dog walkers on the job…but the two cannot handle their pups, especially when the dogs see tasty food or a cat to chase! The dogs break away with Minnie and Daisy running behind them, trying to figure out how they will possibly catch them. “A Walk in the Park” is a very simple story line but it does offer a surprisingly clever and smile-worthy ending, as Minnie comes up with a comical plan to catch the runaway dogs! Children familiar with Disney’s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” on Disney Junior will enjoy seeing Minnie in action as the star of this book! My daughter found a lot of fun in the hijinks of multiple dog chases and Minnie and Daisy scrambling to get them back, and loved the bright illustrations. This is a “Pre-Level 1″ World of Reading Disney book, and it seems well suited to readers at an age range of about 3 – 5 years (preschool/kindergarten), as the story is written using plenty of simple words such as “go”, “dog”, “run”, etc. that repeat throughout. Your early reader will need some help however (even I get tongue-tied saying “Cuckoo Loca”).
